BRADENTON, FL – January 15, 2025  – The Central West Coast and Tampa Bay Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) chapters have partnered for the second year in a row to host a professional development event. This year’s engaging gathering will focus on leading and communicating with ethics, an important topic for all communications professionals. The event will take place on Friday, January 24, at 11 a.m. at the Manatee Performing Arts Center. Registration is available on EventBrite

“As communicators, we face an ever-evolving ethical landscape,” said Central West Coast chapter president Hunter Carpenter, APR. “This event is designed to equip professionals with the tools and knowledge to navigate challenges confidently and ethically, all while learning from real-world dilemmas experienced by local thought leaders.”

During this half day event, participants will learn how to effectively make decisions when faced with ethical dilemmas, when the stakes are high. Mark Rochester, Executive Editor for the Sarasota Herald-Tribune; Jan Thornburg, Communications General Manager for the City of Sarasota; and Ebony Vaz, Founder and CEO of Above Promotions will discuss potential ethical minefields, talk about real-world examples, and touch on potential future obstacles for communicators. The event includes lunch, and will be followed by an option networking happy hour overlooking the Bradenton River.

“We’re excited to partner with the Central West Coast chapter for this exciting regional event,” shared Tampa Bay chapter president Michele Sager, APR. “The role of ethics in our profession has never been more important than it is now, and we are honored to welcome these acclaimed speakers.”

FPRA members who have earned their accreditation in public relations (APR) are encouraged to attend this event. The event qualifies for 0.5 continuing education units toward the ethics requirement for APR renewal. For tickets and more information, visit cwcfpra.com.
