Mission Mavericks: Fly Far With PR

A Pro-Bono PR Opportunity for Local Organizations with Acute Needs

Are you a nonprofit with an inspiring mission but just cannot break through the noise? How about a startup with a social purpose that is hitting a communications bump in the road? Then buckle up and get ready to fly far with PR!

The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (CWC-FPRA) invites you to apply to its inaugural Mission Mavericks program, a pro-bono opportunity to provide your organization with communications guidance and expertise, focused in areas of acute needs.

POTENTIAL PROJECT EXAMPLES

  • Pulling a list of local media contacts
  • Providing press release custom templates and best practices
  • Setting up an e-newsletter template and guidance for content development
  • Sharing best practices to garner media attention, build relationships, and evaluate results
  • Building out brand guidelines, including logo design
  • And more…

Regardless of scope, our goal is to help with a particular PR need or project, not taking the place, even temporarily, of actual professionals in your company.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to 501(c)(3) nonprofits or for-profit companies* in need with limited or no PR, communications, and/or marketing staff.
  • Organization is based in or conducts significant business in one or several of the following counties: Sarasota, Manatee, or DeSoto.
  • Organization demonstrates an acute PR, communications, or marketing need.

* For-profit companies will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Priority will go to newly established organizations 0-3 years old and/or organizations with a social purpose or intention.

Deadline Date: October 1, 2023.
Applicants were notified of their status by October 31.
All project work will be conducted between November 1, 2023, and February 28, 2024.
