My first job in PR was for a residential and commercial builder based in Southwest Florida. I knew right away in college that I was interested in public relations and greatly enjoyed my classes as I dived deeper into communications methodology and strategy. I was convinced that I’d get my start in a big city, but I’m so glad I came back to Sarasota to establish my career!
I’m a proud Sarasota native (3 generations!) and have enjoyed working in both the private and public sector over the years. I love being able to give back to the community I grew up in not only through my work but also through volunteering. I’ve been an active member of The Junior League of Sarasota for 8 years and have often served in varying capacities on its communications council.
Currently I work in the Communications & Community Relations department at Sarasota County Schools. I specialize in media outreach but I also have the tremendous privilege of promoting our amazing teachers, wonderful students and our dynamic, A-rated district as a whole. It may sound cliché but no two days are alike, ever! I had a great educational experience in Sarasota County and am truly honored to support my colleagues as they lift up the next generation.
