Sarasota, FL – July 22, 2025 – The Central West Coast chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (CWC-FPRA) launched the third cycle of its “Mission Mavericks” program. Part of CWC-FPRA’s commitment to give back to the community, the program invited nonprofits in need of communication guidance, public relations strategy, or marketing assistance to apply – and nearly 20 organizations were considered. Of those applicants, CWC-FPRA selected Take Stock in Children of Manatee County as the chapter’s summer 2025 client.
As part of the Mission Mavericks program, a team of CWC-FPRA volunteers will offer communications guidance, share resources, and provide best practices to help Take Stock in Manatee gain media attention and build relationships for their identified projects. These include deliverables like press releases, media training for staff, and social media best practices.
“The support from the Mission Mavericks program will be transformational for Take Stock in Children of Manatee County,” shared Dr. Michael Higley, Director of Operations for Take Stock in Manatee. “Their strategic guidance is helping to amplify our message, sharpen our communications, and elevate the stories of our students, mentors, and community partners. With their expertise, we hope to reach more hearts than ever before.”
The mission of Take Stock in Children is to create pathways to post-secondary education for students who face economic and systemic barriers. By providing scholarships, mentorship, and comprehensive support services, Take Stock empowers motivated and deserving students to achieve their academic and career goals—helping to build brighter futures for individuals, families, and communities. They achieve this through a multi-pronged approach including scholarships, mentoring, and support services.
CWC-FPRA will be holding another round of application submissions for Mission Mavericks in the fall. More information will be available at cwcfpra.com/mission-mavericks/
