Jennifer Moss Wilson, APR, CPRC, CWC-FPRA President 2002-2003, State President 2010-2011
Where are you now?
Moved to Apollo Beach two years ago, but still work in Sarasota. I joined the Marketing, Communications & Business Development department of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System earlier this year. I had worked at SMHCS previously from 1994-2004.
What FPRA means to you?
It would take many paragraphs to really explain what FPRA has meant to me in terms of my career growth and leadership development, in addition to all of the dear friendships I have made over the years. By serving on local and state boards and committees, I have been able to make connections and build relationships that have lasted throughout my career. FPRA is definitely an organization where the more you put in, the more you get out. Suffice it to say that FPRA has been a huge part of my life since I joined in 1998.
What was your biggest accomplishment or Ah-ha moment as president of the CWC-
FPRA?
Being able to bring a group of professionals together on our chapter board to focus on Celebrating 65 Years of FPRA was a great honor. I won awards at Annual Conference in my year for Accreditation and Leadership Development – and I think I am most proud of the Leadership Development award.
Favorite book or website that you recommend to PR professionals?
As CWC FPRA’s Co-Director of Accreditation and Certification, what else would I recommend but www.PRaccreditation.org! I hope everyone in our chapter will consider Accreditation when the time is right for them. The APR credential is both a professional and personal achievement—a revelation of drive, capabilities, and dedication. Receiving this recognition demonstrates your proficiency and alignment with the cutting-edge PR practices and knowledge that will take you to the next level in your career.
One Response
I was President for a couple of years of the local chapter while I was the Public Information Officer for the School Board of Sarasota. It was during the mid-1990’s. It was in the early stages of the group and it was a wonderful experience.
