Meet the Media was a huge success with 13 media participants and 110
attendees.
In case you missed it, here’s a few of the key takeaways:
- Don’t use the word “pitch” or “release” in your email subject line – many
editors/writers now filter those out - Do your homework! Know the media outlet and the beat of the person
you’re sending stories to – they hate blanket releases and getting stuff that
they can’t use - Don’t write a novel when you pitch – include the “what, when, where, who
and why” big and bold to make it easy to understand and make a decision - Do include visuals (photos and videos) with your pitch. If it’s not visually
exciting, it’s going to be a tough sell (especially for TV)
