SARASOTA, FL – October 23, 2025 – The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (CWC-FPRA) is back for its third season of the Mission Mavericks program. The initiative reflects the chapter’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community through its signature pro-bono PR and communications program—designed to help 501(c)(3) organizations with limited or no dedicated communications staff.
Eligible organizations must be based in, or conduct significant activities within, Sarasota, Manatee, and/or DeSoto counties. To be considered, applicants should demonstrate a specific PR, communications, or marketing need. Selected nonprofits will receive professional guidance from seasoned communications experts who will provide strategic support, share resources, and offer best practices to enhance visibility.
Assistance may include press release templates, media outreach strategies, brand guidelines, content development, local media lists, training and e-newsletter setup—helping organizations strengthen their presence and connect with key audiences to further their mission.
Since its launch in 2023, Mission Mavericks has provided strategic communications support to several local nonprofits, including Children’s Guardian Fund, Service Dogs Saving Lives, and Take Stock in Children Manatee.
“As a nonprofit, we learned strategies for successful marketing, both in print, social media, and public speaking. Traci, Miranda, and Connor made a superb team that brought a multitude of talent and industry knowledge to our lifesaving efforts. We are deeply indebted to CWC-FPRA and Mission Mavericks for their vision and sharing their skills with us,” said Linda Johnson, Founder, Service Dogs Saving Lives
If your nonprofit is ready to elevate its communications strategy and soar to new heights, this is your chance to receive expert support—at no cost. Selected applicants will be notified in November. Project work will take place during one of two cycles: January–March 2026 or May–July 2026. Applications are due November 7, 2025.
