Erin McLeod, CWC-FPRA President 2004
Where are you now?
Still in Sarasota, President & CEO of Senior Friendship Centers, a regional nonprofit serving older adults throughout Southwest Florida.
What FPRA means to you?
FPRA has been my professional touchstone and foundation for decades. It’s a community of like-minded professionals who have answered the call to shine the light on causes, issues, and promote good things. It’s also the organization that reminds us there will be difficult times and that’s when the power of strategic communications is also important. I
have made lifelong friends, locally and throughout the state and country because of FPRA. Serving as the local chapter president and on the state association board, I learned about leadership and how valuable a cohesive team is, sharing vision and drive toward common goals for the greater good. I love FPRA and will always be a member. I miss all my peeps and am so happy when I run into a fellow member or am able to attend a monthly professional development program. Keep up the great work!!
What was your biggest accomplishment or Ah-ha moment as president of the CWC-
FPRA?
How true the statement is: You get out of it what you put into it!
Favorite book or website that you recommend to PR professionals?
I love Ragan’s PR Daily blog, but my all-time go-to…dog-eared and right here on my desk: AP Stylebook from my days attending UF J-School. Classic!
