Meet The Media

2019 CWC-FPRA Meet the Media

Meet the Media was a huge success with 13 media participants and 110
attendees.

In case you missed it, here’s a few of the key takeaways:

  1. Don’t use the word “pitch” or “release” in your email subject line – many
    editors/writers now filter those out
  2. Do your homework! Know the media outlet and the beat of the person
you’re sending stories to – they hate blanket releases and getting stuff that
    they can’t use
  3. Don’t write a novel when you pitch – include the “what, when, where, who
and why” big and bold to make it easy to understand and make a decision
  4. Do include visuals (photos and videos) with your pitch. If it’s not visually
exciting, it’s going to be a tough sell (especially for TV)
