Anne K. Rollings
Corporate Office Manager/Business Development/Government Relations/Public Relations, Geckos Hospitality Group
What was your first job in PR?
When I lived in Atlanta, I worked for a global architecture and engineering firm. We bid on large, public park, city planning and infrastructure projects so a significant component of our bid and project process was in the proposal and, later, public consensus-building component. I earned certifications as a Charette Planner and Manager and project specialist.
But in every PR project, large or small, it all comes back to authentically telling your story and building relationships. Whether pitching to a city mayor or to my internal team, bringing a vision story, watching as it evolves and seeing others delight in what I shared is not only challenging, it’s also rewarding.
What’s your #MyFPRA story?
I was fortunate to find FPRA through the aforementioned relationships. Though I am not a certified PR professional, those of us who travel these roads do seem to find each other. I am so appreciative of the professional camaraderie of my colleagues in FPRA and greatly value the friendships that evolved through the fun, smart and engaged nature of our chapter and my FPRA colleagues.
What’s your dream job?
Don’tcha know I’m living the dream!
