Jennifer Moss Wilson, APR, CPRC
Practice & Marketing Director
Thyroid & Endocrine Center of Florida
What was your first job in PR?
My first PR job was at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in the Rehabilitation
Services Department. I worked closely with SMH Communications Department
liaison, Christie Juhasz, APR (a former CWC-FPRA president). It was
Christie who first introduced me to FPRA and the APR credential. I
joined the chapter in 1998 and was hooked!
What’s your #MyFPRA story?
I have served many terms on both the CWC-FPRA (president in 2003) and
the State Executive Committee (state president in 2011). Along the way I
obtained my APR (2001) and my CPRC (2009). In 2016, I was honored with
the esteemed John Dillin Professional Award for Service to FPRA. In my
acceptance speech I referenced the spirit of giving and how much serving
our Association has meant to me. By giving my time and attention to an
organization that I cherish, my own cup filled. I have truly gotten back
much more than I have given.
In addition to all of the dear friends and colleagues I have met locally
and around the state, another great piece of my FPRA story is that I
met my husband, Jay Wilson, APR, CPRC, through FPRA. When I was CWC-FPRA
president, he was Space Coast president-elect. We got to know each
other over many years serving on the Executive Committee. In August 2014
at the FPRA Annual Conference he asked me out! In November 2017, we
were married and more than half of our wedding guests were FPRA friends.
I came back on the chapter board this year and currently serve as VP of
Accreditation. If you have any questions about earning your APR or CPRC
credential, please reach out. April is APR Month, so look for more
information to come your way about this distinguished credential.
