What was your first job in PR?
It’s right now at Visit Sarasota County! I only graduated from college last year and I jumped right into building my PR experience and skills in tourism marketing. It’s been a great opportunity so far. Some days, I’m at the computer working on press releases or with a graphic designer. Other days, I get to tour some of Sarasota’s most famous attractions with journalists from all around the world.
What’s your #MyFPRA story?
We all have someone to thank for getting us involved in FPRA and my person is Lynn Hobeck-Bates, APR, CPRC. She brought me in and I dove headfirst into getting involved with all kinds of projects. As I start my second year in FPRA, I’ve already attended our state conference (which is an absolute blast and I suggest you all go!), I am serving on the board as director of special events, and I plan to submit my first Image Award entry. FPRA offers so many opportunities to improve yourself as a professional. You just have to take the first step and get involved.
What’s your dream job?
My dream job is any place where my days can be different, I get to do fun things, and work with a creative and cohesive team. Luckily, I have all of those things at Visit Sarasota County. I plan to continuously learn new skills that I can apply to future jobs, volunteer organizations, and even fun projects for family and friends.
