CWC-FPRA presents Alyson Lundell of Universal Orlando Resort

Local public relations association hosts ‘Behind the Opening of Universal’s 
Volcano Bay: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’

SARASOTA, FL – January 22, 2018 – The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (CWC-FPRA) welcomes Universal Orlando Resort’s senior director of corporate communications Alyson Lundell, APR, CPRC as guest speaker at its February luncheon. The event takes place on Wednesday, February 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sarasota Herald-Tribune offices (1777 Main St., 9th floor, Sarasota). In 2017, Universal Orlando Resort launched its third theme park, Universal’s Volcano Bay, redefining the water theme park experience. It was a launch that provided great communication opportunities and challenges. During this presentation, Lundell with share the strategy created to launch this massive development, as well as the good, the bad and the ugly behind this PR case study.

Lundell has spent the majority of her 15-year PR career in the tourism industry promoting central Florida’s major attractions. Her current role with Universal Orlando has involved attraction openings including Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, which opened in 2010 followed by the 2014 opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley, and Volcano Bay Water Theme Park. She is also responsible for overseeing publicity efforts around Universal’s annual events, international media efforts and corporate issues.

She is an active member of the Florida Public Relations Association and currently serves as the VP of Chapter Services for the association.
